PAWS AND PRINTS, PETS AND PICS
What is yellow, named after a drink, plays a fierce game of tug of war, would do anything for good food, can bring me to laughter and tears almost in the same breath? Is adventurous, funny, spunky, curious, mischievous, playful, the best "little spoon" I could ask for, and in any given moment can put a smile on my face 10 times over, regardless of the kind of day I am having?
Izze, my four-legged companion, will be 5 years old in July. She has taught me many life lessons, including the need for spontaneity, creativity, and just plain fun in my work and my play. And she is the motivation behind my newest photographic adventure.
After months of anticipation and deliberation, I am finally ready to announce the launching of my pet photography business. There is such joy in standing behind the lens and capturing pets in their natural environment, being completely themselves.
I am finalizing details for my business cards, brochures, updating my blog with web links and details about my photo shoots, etc. But I wanted to get the word out now as we move into the warmer months.
I am an on location, natural light photographer with a love of four-legged furry friends. And I would love to capture special moments of your four-legged companions. Please share my announcement with your friends, family members and anybody else who has a love of furry critters. I will be posting details about where you can find my brochures and business cards in the coming weeks.
There is so much more to come. But in the meantime, here are a few teasers.

ONE STEP AT A TIME.....
She sits. Temporarily anchored while she waits for the right moment. Waves wash in and back out again into the wide open waters. Some leave a resounding mark, while others no more than a ripple. She sits, steadfast, ready for a time when all of the elements prompt her. It is time for the next adventure.
And then there are the ideas that keep coming back to me, like the familiar waves that wash in and back out again, leaving their mark. The ones that every time I consider them, feel outlandish, insurmountable and out of reach, and yet there is a little voice that keeps nagging at me to pay attention. And when I do pay attention, a little part of me is secretly screaming with excitement at the thought of them coming to fruition.
This year is about taking more creative risks. These next few months are about setting my intention. Sharing it with others to keep myself accountable. One foot in front of the other. One step at a time. Putting all the elements in place to make possible the next big adventure. Following the course.
Turning ripples into a shimmering sea.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012
Happy New Year 2012
Hard to believe that another year has passed. My mother used to say "the older you get, the faster time goes." I didn't understand those words as a kid. I get it now. Time does pass with rapid speed, no matter how hard I try to slow it down.
Learning to live in the moment, appreciating what "is" right now, and opening myself up to new growth and adventure, and what is to come despite my best laid plans, are all new ways of being for me.
In a time of quiet reflection, I couldn't help but take notice of the beautiful metaphor happening just beside me. While everything outside is dull and grey and in a phase of regeneration, this incredible display of color and new growth, which will bring about an abundance of spectacular beauty. Isn't this the way of life?
Best wishes for a new year filled with beauty and abundance, new growth and bountiful adventures!

POPSICLE TOES
It's almost January, and still no snow. Frosty mornings, crystal covered leaves, and a few drifting snowflakes. Not much color to be found and some cold, damp days. I am dreaming of snow angels, and beautiful white covered pine trees standing alert in the woods. Crispy nights with star-studded skies, standing around a campfire drinking hot chocolate. Yes, that's what I hope for. Snowmen, children's laughter as they fly effortlessly down a hill on a piece of plastic, and the meditative swoosh of my skis as they glide through quiet woods that look like something out of a fairytale book. The sound of falling snow. One of my very favorite things.
As 2011 comes to a close, as with most years, I spend time being quiet, reflecting on the year, thinking about my vision for 2012. I have some exciting things I will share with you as they unfold. 2011 was a slow start for some of my creative adventures, but movement nonetheless. One foot in front of the other, one step at a time.
My wish for 2012 - to share my love of all things creative, to ignite a curious and courageous fire in all of those individuals whose paths I cross, and to share my love and passion for life with random acts of kindness (more to be revealed :) Happy New Year!!
